Since its establishment in 1990, the “Vasile Goldiș” Western University of Arad has become a stronghold of science and culture in Arad, Transylvania, and the Euroregional area, integrated into the European space of research and education, and affiliated with numerous international organizations.
Today, it defines itself as a postmodern academic institution of the Humboldtian type, a forum of free ideas, a community devoted to education in the spirit of truth, goodness, beauty, and civic and democratic ideals, as well as an emblematic benchmark for quality assurance.

Inca de la infiintarea sa in anul 1990, Universitatea de Vest „Vasile Goldis” din Arad a devenit o cetate a stiintei si culturii aradene, transilvane si euro-regionale, integrata in spatiul european al cercetarii si educatiei, fiind afiliata la numeroase organizatii internationale.
Astazi, se defineste ca institutie academica postmoderna, de tip humboldtian, constituie un forum al ideilor libere, o comuniune de educare in spiritul adevarului, binelui, frumosului, idealurilor civice, democratice si un reper emblematic privind modul de asigurare a calitatii.
